Demeter Dress

There is no summer without a dress!
Join us on Saturday, July 6th, to cut and sew the Demeter Dress, the now-famous dress from Anna Allen.The Demeter dress features a top that can be sewn with or without sleeves, a long gathered skirt, and pockets.

In this project, you’ll learn:

  • How to finish a neckline and armholes with bias

  • How to sew and press bust darts

  • How to create gathers

  • Hemming

Even though the Demeter Dress is beginner friendly, you must know how to operate a machine to follow this workshop. Please check out our beginner classes or lessons if you have no prior experience.

Materials

  • Fabric: the pattern requires up to 3 yards of fabric depending on the view and width of your fabric; please check the chart while shopping for your yardage

  • Matching thread

  • Demeter Dress pattern

Choose between view A - dress with sleeves, or
View B - sleeveless version.
