Back for the last time of the season!
Want to make a quilted coat/jacket but find the process intimidating? We got you! Sew the Rue Coat with us.
Select your size and color; your pieces will be ready to sew at the Studio.
Rue is a retro-inspired quilt coat designed by Spaghetti Western Sewing that features an oversized fit, split hem, collar, pockets, and bound edges.
In this one-day workshop, you will learn:
how to sew a jacket with pre-quilted fabric (bodice, sleeves)
set a collar and use trim
sew bias tape to finish the raw edges of your project
set snaps
tips and tricks to sew thick layers of fabric
$360 for this one-day workshop, including machine, notions, and fabric ready to sew!
This workshop is open to advanced beginners. You MUST KNOW how to operate a sewing machine (winding, threading) and sew a straight stitch in order to follow this workshop. If you took our Modules 1 to 3, you will have the skills needed.
Two color choices for the coat/jacket: cream or navy blue.
The Cream fabric is a cotton Jacquard from Merchant and Mills that looks like a quilted fabric, but there is no batting between the layers, resulting in a lighter-weight jacket.
The navy blue fabric is a cotton gauze on top of very fluffy, high-loft polyester batting.
Feel free to stop by the shop if you'd like to get a feel of the fabric.
